January 2009- I turned 28 with a wonderful dinner complete with bad service, thrown bread, free meal because of said service, and free meal! Well Landon was starting to finally gain weight but at a very slow crawl. So needless to say when Sandy went to Texas witht he kids to see her parents, we got referrals to get him seen and actually tested to figure out what was causing his problems. More to come on the next month.
Work was starting get crazy because of a major inspection that looks at how we do business at our command was the next month so everyone had to act like they were doing things by the book. Which added to the ridiculousness. Oh yeah and no sign of my orders telling me when I was going to transfer.
February 2009- While still in Texas, Madie and Landon managed to get sick. Madie got an ear infection and Landon got RSV which led to him being hospitalized for almost a week. Thanks goodness for military medical insurance! Still nothing positive on the tests. When they came home from Texas, the girls were seen for their annual checkups by a pediatrician that we never saw before. We were very impressed with the way he was during their check (he in fact advised us to get Madie test for autism, which we suspected she might have) that we got it switched so he was Landon's doctor. That led him referring Landon getting tested and seen at Seattle Children's hospital for the entire time we were in Washington.
The inspection went quite well. Wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad either. Finally received orders at the end of the month. Turned out I was leaving in June instead of July like previously thought.
March 2009- Started the transfer process, spring soccer season, and took on the responsibility as a team leader for a American Cancer Society Relay for Life team. Still nothing for results for Landon's tests. Still gaining weight.
April 2009- Same as last month.
May 2009- After a couple of months trying to get Madie seen for her autism testing we finally get her seen at Bremerton Naval Hospital. Needless to say we weren't surprised when we found out it was a reality. And it didn't devastate us either. It doesn't change the way we feel about her and we have dealt with everything she has thrown at us so far. But it was relief to know that it was more to her than just being a brat. Landon was still getting seen and tested with nothing coming up on the tests.
I reenlisted on May 22nd for four years and was in the final steps of turning over the work center.
June 2009- Well the first weekend was the Relay for Life. Abby and I survived the event reasonably well. The week after that was when the packers came to put everything in boxes and load the moving truck. It was absolute insanity between cleaning up the house, dealing with kids who had little to do during the whole thing, and trying to check out of the command. Sandy and the kids left the same day that everything was loaded into the moving truck (June 10th) to Texas to stay with her parents. I finished cleaning up the house and checking out the command and was finished with both on June 12th. I was on the road to San Diego the next day and arrived on June 15th. I am staying with a friend until we get military housing.
Well that should catch us up now. I will try to look at what everyone has put up so far and I will try to be proactive now. Hopefully it will work this time. Until next time, take care!
